Job Description

Title: Wireless Certification Engineer

Location: Walnut Creek, CA

Duration: 2 years

Two year opportunity determining certification and compliance of wireless devices for a large healthcare organization.

This position will be responsible for testing and certifying security on wireless devices to be deployed to hospitals and medical offices. The engineer will work with vendors, device owners and medical staff in the certification process and then document and present findings to a board for certification.

This role is scoped for 2 years with an organization who is known for converting contractors.

DISYS does offer health benefits, 401k and position includes California Sick Time accrual (24 hours per year).


Required Experience:

  • 6-10 years working with wireless and cellular technology.
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS/Computer Science/Math.
  • Strong technical writing and process documentation skills.
  • Exemplary verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Research abilities, equipment and existing procedures independently.
  • Experience troubleshooting wireless performance issues
  • Security experience a must, including SSL Certificate administration
  • Working knowledge of Wi-Fi security protocols and authentication (WPA2, WISPr, EAPS-TTLS, 802.1x, AAA, RADIUS)
  • Experience with Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine) or Aruba ClearPass for secure network access.
  • Experience using Spectrum Analyzers analyzing for collecting RF data.
  • Knowledge of one or more scripting languages, for example, PERL, Python, etc.
  • Knowledge of L2/L3 and wireless security features including access-lists, VACLS, firewalls, WPA, TKIP, CCKM, LEAP, etc.

Desired Experience:

  • Experience with Security preferred, including experience in the setup, tuning and management of security appliances (next gen firewalls, IPS/IDS, ACS, web filters)
  • Healthcare equipment experience
  • Experience with Apple mobile devices
  • Experience with Real Time Location Systems (RTLS) tracking.
  • Experience with Cisco wireless products
  • Experience with core routing and switching technologies
  • Hands-on experience and well versed in utilizing networking tools and applications, such as Cisco Works, Solarwinds, CA, Infinistream, Sniffer, Airmagnet Suite, and TACACS.
  • Active Certifications in one or more of the following are preferred, but NOT required; CWNA, CWNP, CCNA Wireless, CCNP Wireless, CCIE Wireless, Ekahau and/or AirMagnet
