UX Consultant 

Location: Duluth, GA

Anticipated duration: contract to hire

General Overview:

The UX practice explores and designs new, cutting edge digital experiences for the future for our sales representatives and clients. We do this by using a Voice of Client (VOC), Research, Lean UX and Design Thinking approach to create engaging proof-of-concepts and prototypes for our Field technology division.

As a UX Design Researcher, this person will be a key contributor to the evolution of our Digital experience across devices, services, and future vision for collaboration UX (Lean UX). The research challenges will span evaluating experiences for both field agents and clients, working on solutions that span across devices, screen sizes and platforms, and envisioning world-class UX solutions for a very large base of existing users. This person will be joining a group of UX professionals including UX Designers and Developers, with whom they can partner, learn from and contribute towards. This person will be an integral part of the CX/UX Practice and will have the opportunity to partner closely with Program Managers and Developers that are directly involved in creating and evolving user experiences.

Requirements:

  • Collaborates with the UX team and relevant cross-functional teams to build UI prototypes to be used for user testing.
  • 4+ years of experience as a UX researcher or similar role demonstrating expertise in digital projects.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and detailed design specifications that describe the user experience to stakeholders, facilitate usability research, and direct development.
  • Follow user-centered design principles to produce high-quality designs, from concept to execution. This requires skill and experience in Information Architecture and Interaction Design.
  • Synthesize business objectives, user research and metrics to help set direction for key digital properties.
  • Effectively use research to iteratively test, refine, and evolve design solutions.
  • Collaborate with fellow designers, researchers, and/or external vendors to constantly refine our process, methods, and best practices.
  • Have a passion for creating designs that are simple, elegant, useful, and usable.
  • Understand different form factors (smartphone, tablet, desktop) and how to appropriately design for them.
  • A degree in interaction design, industrial design, human factors, graphic design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience. 
  • The ability to clearly communicate and explain design decisions and recommendations.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently without sacrificing a consistently high level of attention to detail.
  • Experience working with agile teams.
  • Experience using prototype tools (Axure, InVision, Abobe XD).
  • Capability to adhere to team processes and standards, while contributing ideas for improvement.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently without sacrificing a consistently high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with business requirement gathering, site assessment, competitive analysis, and secondary research.
  • Experience negotiating business decisions.
  • Experience researching for financial service products a plus.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human Factors or other related field and 4+ years of experience or 4 years of experience with the User research and/or user testing.
