Hiring for Systems, Seats, Interiors, and Liaison Stress Analysts.
SUMMARY:
The stress analysis engineer for aircraft structures possesses a comprehensive understanding of structural analysis techniques and tools relevant to both metallic and composite components. Their primary responsibility is to ascertain that the aircraft possesses the requisite strength to withstand all operational conditions it may encounter throughout its service life, and to investigate any field service-related concerns that may arise. Additionally, they are tasked with ensuring that the aircraft's structural integrity aligns with all other design specifications, encompassing fail-safety, longevity, and damage tolerance as applicable.
As an Associate, Mid-Level, or Experienced Stress Analyst (Level 2/3/4), you will have a minimum of the following responsibilities:
- Develops, integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the system design.
- Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.
- Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
- Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
- Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
- Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.
- Works under general direction
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in one of the following engineering majors: Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Civil, and select Structures degrees.
- Experience with Engineering classification such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Experience with stress analysis.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience?
- Demonstrate engineering knowledge as a level 2/3/4 engineer ideally working in a Structural and/or Aerospace industry.
- ABET or equivalent is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
- Experience with fatigue or durability analysis
- Finite Element Analysis experience is a plus.
Typical Education/Experience:
Associate (Level 2)
Bachelor of Science degree and typically 2 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master of Science degree with typically experience in an engineering classification from an accredited course of study, in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Civil, and select Structures engineering. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Mid-Level (Level 3)
Bachelor of Science degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master of Science degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Doctorate of Science degree with experience from an accredited course of study, in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Civil, and select Structures engineering. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Experienced (Level 4)
Bachelor of Science degree and typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master of Science degree with typically 7 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Doctorate of Science degree with typically 4 or more years' experience from an accredited course of study, in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Civil, and select Structures engineering. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
