Contract to Hire - Lead  Network Engineer

What we need:

  • As our Lead Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation and support of enterprise network. Your extensive experience working with Cisco data and voice networks will be utilized to streamline and improve network infrastructure and support critical projects.

Who you’ll work with:

  • In this critical role, you will report to the Director, Enterprise Infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for working with your manager and peers in IT to develop the engineering design that supports the business and operational requirements for new and existing systems. As part of playing a leading role in strategy, design and support, you will also mentor other engineers as well as provide second level support for complex issues, problems or projects.

What we expect:

  • As Lead Network Engineer, you’ll need to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with occasional conflicting priorities. You must have the drive and skills to make the best decisions that align with the business and the company’s objectives.

What you’ll bring:

  • As Lead Network Engineer, you should have 7 years of progressive telecom and network engineering experience, and a Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical field or similar discipline. In addition, you should have expertise and experience in technical and professional areas.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 7 years of experience of design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of large, complex IP-based networks.
  • 7 years of experience in Network Capacity Planning, Performance. Monitoring/Management and Network Design Architecture.
  • Advanced experience in dynamic routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP), HSRP, MPLS networks and Cisco DMVPN. Working knowledge of SD-WAN.
  • Advanced experience with switching technologies (VLANs, Spanning Tree, Cisco Nexus & Catalyst platforms)
  • 7 years of experience with layer-2, layer-3, and/or layer-4 network protocols and technologies
  • Experience designing, configuring, and deploying network switches/routers. Including expertise in QoS/CoS, traffic shaping and bandwidth throttling.
  • Advanced knowledge for the implementation and support of Quality-of-Service (QoS), and MPLS-based networks is required. Voice-over-IP (VoIP) a plus.
  • Strong understanding of Cisco routers and switches in a corporate infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of network security practices and tools. Network Security (Fortinet firewall experience preferred, firewall policies, rules, best practices, SSL-VPN, IPSEC tunnels)
  • Experience working with telecommunications carriers on design and implementation as well as support of existing distributed networks.
  • Experience with Network Analysis tools required (NetBrain, PRTG, SolarWinds etc.)
  • Citrix NetScaler ADC experience is a plus.
  • Cisco CCNP required.

  • Must be able to prioritize and manage time effectively as well as function with no supervision, under tight deadlines, and demonstrate initiative in problem solving
  • Demonstrate ability to execute and perform timely follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrate competency in the use of project management tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to instill quality in every aspect of the job function.
