Job Description:

  • Execute and evaluate manual or automated tests. Implement the theory of Testing. Write defect reports. Design and implement complex test cases, workflows and scripts which map to requirements.
  • Test product documentation. Report test coverage and progress. Develop test strategy for products. Write Test plans. Make business-based decision regarding testing effort/approach. Conduct verification testing.
  • Test and perform system and product installs. Test Lead on multiple products.. Author reports, such as post partums and phase gate reviews.
  • Know how and where to apply automated testing techniques. Perform code coverage analysis. Present testing results, practices to upper management.
  • Present process improvements which will improve the quality of the software. Present new or renewed testing practices from outside of the company. Assist in the execution and validation of existing test scripts, and provides further test script development, to gain an understanding of the automated regression testing workflow.
  • Assist testers with designing and coding new scripts using new modular test library functions and procedures.
  • Become proficient in assigned products - Develop test strategy for these products. Establish a relationship with the Systems Administration and Configuration Management groups to communicate and facilitate the hardware and software management and maintenance requirements of the team.
  • Maintain communication conduit to other developers, documentation, and testing. Write quality software, adhering to documentation and coding standards. Actively focus on Health, Safety, and Environmental issues. Incorporates Reliability, Service Quality, and project management techniques in all job processes.


Job Requirements

Description:

  • Under broad direction, has a comprehensive knowledge of many complex applications and is able to completely test integration across these applications. Mentor other Software Testers that can be comprised of Manual and Automated Test Engineers and Technical Writers. Comprehensive understanding of all elements of a successful software development program.
  • Including but not limited to Code Inspections, Manual Testing, Automated Testing, Functional Requirements, Design, Test Plans, Usability and Results and Defect Management.
  • He/She is an integral part of the planning of future release as in estimating efforts required in Testing and Documentation and advising on product improvements based on experience gained from previous releases and customer feedback. Job role contributes to value creation.
  • Skills typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar discipline, and 7 years of related experience or through 11 years of software testing and/or development experience. Completion of a masters in Computer Science or similar discipline is preferred.
