Job Description

  • The BQ/EQ Scientific Technician II is responsible for performing routine and non-routine testing in support of all aspects of the manufacturing operations.
  • This includes but is not limited to environmental monitoring of the manufacturing environment and utility systems, bioburden monitoring of incoming raw materials and in-process product solutions.
  • The BQ/EQ Scientific Technician II is responsible for performing all testing according to the applicable standard operating procedures (SOP) and meet all cGMP requirements for the testing and associated documentation.
  • The BQ/EQ Scientific Technician II communicates to the BQ/EQ Supervisor or BQ Manager of any nonconformance with the laboratory testing or equipment.
  • The BQ/EQ Scientific Technician II must have an understanding of microbiological and environmental testing and cause/effect relationships to better determine audit/investigation results.
  • The position is responsible for performing a peer review of testing data and assist with administrative activities for the laboratory.
  • The BQ/EQ Scientific Tech II is responsible for adhering to all cGMPs, SOPs, and plant policies/rules.

Job Requirements

  • The BQ/EQ Scientific Technician II may also be required to perform audits, assist with investigations, update standard operating procedures, and train new personnel based on the need of the business.
  • The amount of time spent in each area will be determined by BQ/EQ Management to meet department needs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology or Biological Science (Microbiology preferred) with some laboratory experience preferred.
  • A thorough understanding of Microbiology, Environmental Science, or Sterilization Science and cause/effect relationships to better determine investigation results.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively train others and strong effective communication skills.
