JOB DESCRIPTION

Position : QA - Software Test Analyst

Location : Franklin, Tennessee

Duration: 6+ Months   (Contract to hire)

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Works in/with an Agile Development Team and organization to deliver quality products to the customer, with a focus on testing and quality assurance. In the process, actively contributes positively to product design, thought leadership and continuous improvement of the Team (s)he is a part of.

 

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

•        Responsible for test activities for assigned projects in an Agile development environment

•        Develops, maintains and upgrades manual test scripts, utilities, data sets and other test tools required to execute test plans.

•        Develops automated Test Frameworks using Selenium Webdriver

•        Works closely with Product Owners and Developers on Product Design and provide thought leadership on test approaches

•        Effectively communicates testing activities and findings in oral and written forms

•        Administers and controls test tools.

•        Organizes and maintains the test script library for assigned area or application(s).

•        Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED

•        Agile experience, automation experience preferably with Selenium, APIs testing experience

 

NICE TO HAVE

•        TFS working experience, MS test manager experience

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

•        Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university in computer science, management of information services or a related field.

 

EXPERIENCE:

•        Overall 6-9 years in IT (5-7 years in Quality Assurance) with full life-cycle test, writing test plans, developing test cases and implementing test strategies; including two years leading complex test programs and two years experience with testing tools; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

•        Advanced professional role. Highly-skilled with extensive proficiency. Develops large and/or complex solutions that require analysis and research. Works on multiple projects as a project leader or frequently as the subject matter expert. Works on projects/issues of medium to high complexity that require demonstrated knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments. Coaches and mentors more junior technical staff. Works under minimal supervision on complex projects. Wide latitude for independent judgment. Typically requires 5+ years of demonstrated experience in software testing. Frequently reports to a Software QA Manager.

 

 

Job Requirements

SPECIFIC SKILLS

•        Excellent analytical skills with an ADVANCED level proficiency in QA practice creating/maintaining test plans, creating test harnesses, scripts; executing scripts and reporting.

•        Self-motivated and quick learner who can adeptly adapt to changing requirements and demands of a project

•        Be able to lead analytical thought groups to clarify requirements and understand product design, focusing on desired outcomes (acceptance criteria)

•        Be able to engage with Development team in design sessions

•        Experience in Agile development methodology in the .Net development environment preferred

•        Technically proficient Programming background a plus (any language acceptable; but one of C, C++, Java or C# preferred)

•        Proven experience with developing automation frameworks is required; automation using Selenium Webdriver is a plus

•        Must understand the technical concepts of APIs, Services, Web deployments, .Net Architecture concepts, Configuration Files, IIS hosting, Point of Sale devices

•        Understand databases (SQL Server preferred) and is able to write complex queries

•        TFS (Team Foundation Server) working knowledge is preferred

•        MS Test Manager working knowledge is highly preferred

•        Must be a quick and sharp thinker and be creative enough to react to the dynamic nature of Agile development

•        Should have an eye for detail and be able to deliver results under pressure.

•        Domain knowledge/experience of the Payments Industry (practices, players, regulations) is a plus
