Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly motivated, engaging and detailed oriented mindset for an Accounting role.  The position will be a contract to hire role and located in the North Houston area – The Woodlands, TX.  The position will be reporting to the Accounting Lead and Managing Accounting Supervisor.  Compensation to be discussed upon screening interview with Disys.

Duration:  6 month Contract to Hire conversion between 5 and 6 month.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for month-end close tasks including posting of journal entries, variance and trending analysis and preparation of monthly results reports
  • Support internal control compliance by assisting with the design, documentation and evaluation of processes and controls
  • Perform account analysis and research with ad-hoc projects as required
  • Preparation of internal financial reports
  • Assist internal and external auditors with documentation requests
  • Liaise with other teams including Asset Teams and Planning & Performance Management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting would be a Huge plus.
  • 4+ years of experience working in Financial Accounting or Auditing
  • Strong writing, verbal and analytical skills
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with design, testing and implementation of internal controls
  • Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards a plus
  • Familiarity with SAP preferred
  • Accounting experience within the energy sector preferred
  • Spanish language a plus
