Working Conditions: 

Fast paced working environment that requires thorough planning of daily sales calls. The work is completed both inside and outside with exposure to the general range of weather, traffic and construction jobsite conditions. There is exposure to chemicals such as gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, and cleaning solvents. Required to load / unload and transport equipment when necessary.  There should be an awareness of inherent risk and exposure of the job, working amongst large industrial equipment, on construction or other job sites and chemicals/fuel, etc.  Each employee has a duty to be fully alert (unimpaired physically or mentally) and capable of regularly working safely in a “safety sensitive” designated position.  Safety sensitive positions may be required to submit to specific drug testing programs as required by the company.


Description:

The position consists of increasing revenue and growing market share by raising the number of active accounts, and establishing and maintaining professional relationships with customers through regular interaction on job sites, office visits and phone calls.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Secure orders, locates new customers, plans sales calls, and makes presentations demonstrating the advantages of dealing with Company Equipment.
  • Build strong business relationships through respect for the customer and a sincere desire to service his needs.
  • Establish and maintain personal relations with customers
  • Solve customer’s problems and provide assistance to product application
  • Keep customers up to date on new products in Company fleet.
  • Keep familiar with new products available to Company and inform management of customer’s product needs.
  • Responsible to regularly and accurately report and document (using the Company systems e.g. CRM) all prospecting and sales activity.
  • Maintain Dodge Report file and follow up on all leads. (Dodge Reports, new customers, customer inquiries and sub-contractors and keep informed on job awards)
  • Settles complaints and resolve disputes.
  • Maintain a system for keeping literature, brochures, and price sheets neat and current.
  • Control telephone and entertainment expenses.
  • Maintain a high degree of sales professionalism through independent study and reading.
  • Attend meetings and activities of assigned associations.
  • Ensure that equipment always meets the standards of company and notifies management if it does not.
  • Strives to be a team player, helping company to excel in all areas. Brings to management’s attention areas needing improvement.
  • May assist dispatch by doing deliveries and equipment pick ups
  • Regular attendance and active participation at Branch Safety meetings

    Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must possess sales and customer relation skills. Previous sales experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of construction rental equipment is a plus
  • Basic computer skills including average typing skills
  • Must possess multi-tasking abilities
  • Must have the ability to work unsupervised
  • Must possess time management skills
  • Must maintain a professional personal appearance.
  • Possess basic mathematics skills
  • Must be able to communicate in English. Ability to speak another language is a plus.
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
  • Keep regular, dependable and timely attendance
  • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to grasp and apply new information quickly
  • Must pass company drug screen.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must possess and maintain a good driving record
  • Be able to frequently lift 25 lbs, occasionally lift 50 lbs, and seldom lift 90 lbs
  • Must be able to meet performance, productivity and efficiency standards
