Job Description

Disys is currently recruiting for a .Net Architect.  This contract opportunity is with a manufacturing company in beautiful Portland, OR. Having partnered with this client for over 20 years, a high percentage of Disys consultants are approved for extensions. Additionally, we have an on-site Disys support team that is always available to directly assist both the consultants and the client.   • Team: 5+ Developers onsite/ 10 Developers offsite. 
  • The candidate needs a solid understanding of how .NET works on servers and how code should be structured.

Project Information: The .NET Architect will be in charge of validating the work that the developers have done and make improvements as necessary.

Job Functions:

  • Provide technical leadership on application development and projects.
  • Research and develop (R&D) new technological solutions for the needs of the business.
  • Support of ticket tracking tools, implement process, staff training and security protocols to meet organizational, IT and business standards
  • Follow Enterprise change management discipline and tracking;
  • Provide guidance for technical development team on source code administration using best practice toolsets.
  • Provide guidance on application build and deployment scripts/tools.
  • Envision and develop next-generation architecture and software to support emerging capabilities.
  • Assist with application diagnostics including error and log review to recommend application and infrastructure tuning and fixes.
  • Automate, improve and stream line application deployments and build process across many applications
  • Coordinate build and promotion activities across different projects
  • Collect and publish data statistics on applications’ performance and end user usage;
  • Monitor application and infrastructure performance; make recommendations for configuration, tuning and testing, and capacity management.
  • Simultaneously work with multiple, diverse projects and activities.
  • Support after hours build promotion and system outages, as needed;
  • Design, improve and implement process and tools’ implementations on ongoing basis;
  • Keep documentation up to date;
  • Support business applications across different technology platforms
  • Ensure the applications and the integrations align with the growth strategy of the organization, considering:
    • Interoperability capability
    • Performance scalability
    • Application lifecycle stage
    • Technological risks
    • Follow all IT and SOX standards

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and verify diagnostic and flashing systems 
  • Develop Windows based software applications
  • Analyze and fulfill user requests and software requirements
  • Ensure software quality process and standards are followed
  • Develop and execute unit and system test plans
  • Integrate vehicle electronic diagnostic and flashing functions
  • Independently schedule time according to project plans or priorities set by management
  • Proactively inform management of project issues, delays and risks

Required Qualifications:

  • 9+ years of directly applicable software engineering experience
  • Knowledge supporting an enterprise application
  • Proficient and practical experience with .NET technologies
  • Proficient and practical experience with C# and XML
  • Experience with Transport and Message level security implementation
  • Good analytical and logical problem solving skills
  • Experience identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems
  • Experience with Microsoft C++
  • Understand communication standards
  • Understanding of network layers
  • Experience with localization (e.g. language) support in Windows applications
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to explain complex issues in non-technical terms

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Basic and VB Script
