Job Description

The Middle Office North America (NA) Analyst is responsible for assisting the Reporting Manager in the budgeting process, preparing ad-hoc reports for Executive Management and data mining of Natural Gas Trading information. Other responsibilities include providing support for position, deal valuation, market fundamentals and P&L reporting.





Overall responsibilities:




•        Assists with the generation of annual budgeting information across the Natural Gas Trading business unit, including quarterly budget updates, and presents to executive management.

•        Assists with the maintenance and presentation of monthly expense tracking and measurement against budget.

•        Perform statistical analysis on time-series data related to Natural Gas Market in NA.

•        Generates Natural Gas Business operational and market intelligence reports, including fundamental analysis related to Temperatures, Sendout, Gas storage inventory and Fuel costs.

•        Streamline processes to prepare Middle Office reports.

•        Understand gas trading business and Gas Portfolio Management Strategies in order to developed business performance reports for Executive Management.

•        Create charts and graphics as needed to represent market activity in ad-hoc reports.

•        Assist in monthly P&L reporting of the Gas Trading business.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:


Demonstrated experience with an emphasis in the energy/ utility industry and reporting field.


Understand market risk concepts and basic principles.


Strong analytical problem solving and data analysis skills, with attention to detail.


Statistical analysis & data mining skills are a must.


Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and VBA . PowerPoint skills are preferred


Knowledge of ETRM systems, preferably Allegro.


Ability to work efficiently and achieve results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, while maintaining high quality.


Education:


Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or Business related degree.
