Ability to lead development initiatives



Primary Responsibilities:


  • Lead and mentor/guide software engineers within the team

  • Identify areas of process improvements and build automated solutions to increase efficiency & productivity.

  • Ensure team follows best practices and improve application performance

  • Influence peers without authority by inspiring them to use cutting-edge tools and build best of the breed solutions

  • Influence and increase the productivity of the team

  • Drive Agile/SCRUM meetings and follow SCRUM methodology to deliver high-quality software releases every 2 weeks through Sprints

  • As a servant leader, help the Scrum execution team to make a smooth progress on delivering new functionality and at the end the release

  • Plan and strategize with other key leaders including resource, technology, and product-services planning

  • Focus on execution of product features in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders

  • Drive some of the software engineering phases including requirements analysis, architecture & application design

  • Design and develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business

  • Triage production support issues post-deployment and drives solutions as required

  • Lead and ensure the team is building reusable components, frameworks, and libraries which can be leveraged across the department

  • Work very closely with architecture groups and drive solutions

  • Identify/resolve technical issues to improve stability and performance

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications


  • 3+ years as technical engineer/dev leadership

  • 7+ years hands-on experience in Java/J2EE programming

  • 10+ years in the software engineering profession across entire SDLC

  • Demonstrated success designing and building high-quality commercial software applications

  • Proven experience delivering software using an Agile/Scrum methodology

  • Understanding of SOA design principles

  • Working knowledge of APIs


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Cloud architecture Knowledge

  • Prior experience with ESB(such as Mule/IIB), integration architecture & development

  • Service Oriented Architecture experience

  • Prior experience with API or Web Services Architecture, Design and Development

  • Prior experience with XML, XML Schemas, XSLT, XPath, SOAP, REST, JSON, WADL, and WSDL

  • Prior Experience with Open Source Frameworks and other tools including Spring, Struts, Hibernate, Log4J/Commons logging, Maven, Ant

  • Prior experience with Eclipse, JBOSS Studio, Rational Application Developer or other similar tools Quick to learn new technologies and deliver Proof-of-Concept

  • Experience in the healthcare industry
