We have a client that is Detroit, Michigan-based utility incorporated in 1995 involved in the development and management of energy-related businesses and services nationwide. They are looking for an IT Delivery Lead Consultant

IT Delivery Lead

  • Responsible for managing all aspects of implementation as it relates to technical delivery including infrastructure, security, resources, plan, schedule, budget, and reporting.
  • Responsible for implementation of infrastructure, security and architecture related software, hardware and services from project initiation to deployment and support.
  • Manages all aspects of implementation as it relates to technical delivery including resources, plan, schedule, budget, reporting.
  • Partners with business and technology to drive solutions from design to deployment.
  • Facilitates the team providing hands on management of application configuration, operational support, and troubleshooting activities for enterprise applications as needed. 
  • Manages all internal and external technical resources in the delivery of technology solutions; plan and implement products, including assembly of all standard project artifacts and associated materials such as documentation, release notes, installation, quality and usage. 
  • Leads the delivery of projects across the IT portfolio, works with projects sponsors, process owners & business relationship manager to develop and deliver IT infrastructure, security and architecture implementations.
  • Manages work through huddles and regular meetings – Project team huddle and status is owned by the Delivery Lead (invite, agenda, participants and facilitation.)
  • The Delivery Lead is responsible for maintaining/tracking the progression of work (e.g. schedule, task list, action, etc.)
  • The DL is responsible for ensuring all action items are captured and followed up on and closed.
  • The DL is expected to escalate as necessary when they identify an issue/risk and are unable to resolve within context of huddle or if it has material impact on schedule, budget, etc.
  • Communicate status to stakeholders – Project stakeholder communication is the responsibility of the DL. It is necessary that the DL keep the project sponsor (and BRM manager) informed with timely and regular communication. The minimum expectations are the project status report and a regular stakeholder meeting. The communications should provide how key activities are tracking (e.g. schedule, budget, OCM, etc.) and early awareness of any issues or risks that will change project status (red or yellow) and opportunity to provide input/approve get-to-green plans. 

 Delivery Lead Skills


  • Project management related experience

  • IT Project lifecycle knowledge
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field (I.e., MIS, CIS) and at least 3 years of project management IT experience

  • Experience leading day to day activities of IT projects or small/medium/large IT initiatives
  • Experience in leading multiple small/medium IT projects and initiatives simultaneously

  • Experience in identifying resource and supporting infrastructure needs and coordinate the daily activities of the team in alignment with goals
  • Experience in managing issues, risks, escalations, timelines and scope in alignment with project goals

  • Experience in regularly producing project metrics and communicating status to stakeholders
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with implementation of IT projects including those integrating with vendor software or cloud solutions

  • Experience in managing stakeholder expectations and scope, and working with key stakeholders on requirements
  • PMP certification

  • ITIL certification
  • Experience implementing Microsoft Office 365 solutions

  • Experience rolling out Skype for business to an Enterprise

  • Experience in leading/assisting with L2/L3 teams in the resolution of application/system problems/failures
