Role: Information Security Analyst

Location: 100% Remote

Duration: 12 months (Contract to Hire)



Job Responsibilities:

  • The candidate must have a general understanding of developing solution security architectures applicable to securing cloud and data platforms, to include the use of;

  • secure protocols (TLS, HTTPS, IPSEC, LDAPS, etc.),

  • network security zoning and segregation,

  • authentication and authorization,

  • web services, web proxies and web application firewalls,

  • network security (next generation firewalls, NIDS/NIPS, etc.),

  • data protection (encryption, DLP, data masking, etc.),

  • cloud security across all type-models (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, On-Prem and Hybrid).

  • The candidate must also have an understanding and working knowledge of various Information Security frameworks and methodologies such as NIST, ISO 27001, and SABSA.

  • Possess at least one of the following Entry-Level Information Security Certifications (preferred, but not required):

  • (ISC)2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

  • GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF)

  • CompTIA Security+

  • ISACA CSX Cybersecurity Fundamentals Certificate



Education:

  • Bachelors degree (preferred) in Information Security, Computer Science, from a nationally accredited university or college, plus 3 - 5 years experience in the field of Information Security.



Possess a sound understanding and knowledge of:

  • Information Security architecture frameworks, methodologies, principles and concepts

  • New InfoSec technologies and capabilities

  • New technology evaluation, testing and selection lifecycle

  • Access controls and effective authentication, authorization and accountability

  • Information security and risk management concepts

  • Foundational networking and network security concepts and terminology

  • Network attacks and the countermeasures and technologies employed to minimize the associated risks from attacks

  • Securing systems and applications from malware and other common threats

  • Must possess:

  • Strong analytical and modeling skills

  • Strong organizational skills and be detail oriented

  • Be proficient in the use of:

  • Microsoft O365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio) (Required)

  • Microsoft Teams

  • Microsoft SharePoint



Scope of Work

Work with the Information Security Lines of Business and Project Teams to understand business requirements and architect secure solutions to meet those requirements

Work with InfoSec architects and engineers to gain a thorough understanding of their requirements and project levels of engagement

Review submitted projects and associated business cases for architectural significance, applicability, and level of engagement

Development of processes, procedures, workflows, and architectural patterns

Other duties as assigned
