Facilities/Maintenance Manager

Position Summary

Direct report to the Sr. Manager Manufacturing Engineering this position will oversee all functions and operations related to the upkeep, repair and improvements of facilities and equipment.  Assist with developing budgets for capital projects pertaining to the overall campus activities. Assist the Safety Manager with projects related to Safety issues and training of equipment utilized by all personnel. Hires, trains, supervises, reviews and disciplines associates in the facilities maintenance department. Ensure that all work ordered is completed on time and according to quality standards and that spending on supplies used to complete maintenance remains within budgetary constraints.



Knowledge / Skills / Experience / Certifications / Licenses:

  • Strong knowledge in a number of facilities/maintenance areas such as plumbing, heating, electrical
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Customer Service Oriented
  • Experience in Facilities and Maintenance related work
  • Ability to prioritize multiple task and work independently or within a group
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions and specific rules, regulations and processes.
  • Leadership Skills
  • Understand budget and P/L processes
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Applications
  • HS Diploma
  • Driver’s License



Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 5+ years previous experience in a similar job and role
  • Maintain applicable licenses ( i.e.. HVAC, Electrical)


Job Requirements

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises the Facilities and Maintenance staff to ensure production equipment is maintained and operating according to specifications while maintaining a safe working environment. Support successful completion of production schedules by maximizing equipment up-time and tracking downtime of equipment for data collection. – 35%
  • Make recommendations for process and equipment improvements to maximize the efficiency and productivity of the equipment. – 15%
  • Assists in maintaining safety and environmental policies and procedures and ensure they are adhered to by the Facilities/ Maintenance personnel; conducts regular shift safety meetings and safety inspection on all equipment in accordance with site safety rules and regulations. – 25%
  • Coordinate and maintain good relationships with outside vendors and contractors to support the overall plant operations. – 10%
  • Complete annual goals and adhere to budgets as determined by department and SR. Manager. – 15%
