Position Description

The position is responsible for working closely with both internal teams and external customers to understand, define, and replicate best practices related to data quality and integrity program related reports and data.  Responsibilities include interpreting data, creating ad hoc reports, modifying and updating standard reports when applicable, perform statistical analysis, analyze data to forecast trends and conduct predictability outcomes.  The analyst will also participate in client meetings, strategy sessions, and quarterly business reviews.  He/she must possess knowledge and experience necessary to offer recommendations and propose solutions for complex business problems and/or systems enhancements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Become an expert in source systems and data, through data profiling and analysis efforts using SQL or other tools
  • Validate source to target mappings using a variety of tools, including BusinessObjects Data Services/BODI
  • Data extraction, interpretation and integration from multiple database / operational systems to ensure accuracy and data integrity
  • Create and monitor log files / reports to help identify data and product issues
  • Identify data patterns, trends, problems and inconsistencies; actively research and resolve issues, or drive requirements into technology to resolve the issues
  • Support operations and technology departments with resolution of data-related issues
  • Research best practices and makes recommendations to key leaders and stakeholders for adoption of systems, tools and processes, based on analysis of findings
  • Actively contributor to process development best practices, operational efficiencies and process/application documentation
  • Articulate data quality vision and roadmap to team members and across all functions including sales, operations, technology, and leadership
  • Assist in testing new system or product releases
  • Assist in development and/or delivery of data quality and privacy training programs as needed
  • Stay current with best practices in data quality management, including adherence to data privacy laws and regulations

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements
5+ years' experience in analytics or data related fields


Critical Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project), Visio, SharePoint, SQL, Business Objects, and Salesforce.
  • Ability to review all program data, perform analysis, notice trends, research and suggest solutions relating to data quality and integrity.
  • Experience in dissecting and deriving solutions to business or technical problems; the ability to think out of the box and suggest multiple approaches; the ability to integrate new information to create additional insights
  • Ability to lead and conduct customer meetings to understand complex business needs.
  • Experience in developing models to represent current and future program and organizational impacts.

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • 5+ years demonstrated experience with data warehouse, data quality, and implementation of solutions to address data quality issues and concerns.
  • 5+ years in open system environment with a focus on database quality and/or data integrity
  • Design and develop test plans to validate data warehouse processes and business intelligence applications as well as reporting integrity
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and data analysis
  • Expert understanding of data structures, including complex object relationships
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to produce quality and timely work
  • Self-directed, proactive, independent thinker, with an ability to learn quickly and make sound business decisions
  • Ability to operate independently, juggle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a results-oriented environment
  • Aptitude to author and present product / system requirements documents, including associated business justifications
  • Working knowledge of product / system development and evaluation processes
  • Passion for data quality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Exercise excellent judgment within defined standards and guidelines to manage conflict resolution and/or ambiguous situations
  • Experience developing partnerships with the technical, business, and sales teams utilizing strong communication and team building skills

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience


Physical Requirements
Professional office environment - 20% travel may be required
