Job Description

Business Systems Consultant

  • Acts as a liaison between client area and technical organization by planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of highly complex business problems to be solved with automated systems
  • Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business requirements
  • Gather business requirements to identify remediation populations using complex data
  • Ability to translate technical specs into business language requirements
  • Validate data to ensure data sets meet requirements
  • Create and execute test plans and test scripts to ensure data populates and matches customer communications
  • Document, log and track defect reporting, validate corrections, and retest
  • Acts as a liaison between client area and data team to provide training, resolve questions, assess user needs, and recommend changes
  • Works with user groups Acts as an internal consultant within technology and business groups by using quality tools and process definition/improvement to re-engineer technical processes for greater efficiencies

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in business systems analysis and/or design, including experience with complex data arrays
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in business related or technology related field; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to think logically and to use personal judgment, experience, known facts, and figures to make decisions and deal with problems. Possesses sound analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate and present in both oral and written format. Develops presentation skills to share information with both technical and non-technical personnel
  • Ability to elicit detailed activity needs to support the business process identification
  • Ability to facilitate and guide sessions to generate outcome-based (actionable) requirements based on the business process identification
  • Knowledge of the activities, tasks, practices and deliverables for assessing and documenting business opportunities; ability to assess the benefits, risks, and success factors of potential applications
  • Develop, utilize and maintain process flow diagrams and organizational change requirements
  • Create, update, or revise and review Knowledge Management practices, procedures, or documents
  • Knowledge of the activities, tasks, deliverables and techniques for documenting current business processes; ability to identify problems, opportunities, and re-engineering processes for improvement
  • Knowledge of the technical language and writing approach, and the ability to write paper-based and on-line technical reference documentation (guidelines, standards, procedures, processes, applications, etc.)
  • Strong communications skills
  • Strong analytic skills and data analysis
