Position : Application Performance Management (APM) Engineer


Location : Tempe AZ


Duration: 6+ Months   ( greater possibility of extension)


 


Seeking a Developer (Other Specialty) to design, develop, and implement applications using in-demand languages and technologies (e.g. - Java, Websphere, Informatica etc.) to support business requirements. Job Responsibilities: *Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications. *Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts. *Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution. *Assure quality security and compliance requirements are met for supported area. *Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment. *Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner. Qualifications: *Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. *8-10 years’ experience required. *Development experience in needed language or technology (e.g. - Websphere, Informatica etc.). *Hands on experience in designing, developing and successful deployment of large scale projects from end-to-end. *Hands on experience in following the iterative and agile SDLC.

Job Purpose/Description


Responsible for the administration, support, design, development, modification, testing, adaption, and/or implementation of short- and long-term Application Performance Management (APM) solutions to business and technology needs. Reviews system requirements and business processes; codes, tests, debugs and implements software solutions. Works independently in a fast paced environment on issues of the highest complexity. • Manages application availability, performance, and pro-actively find potential problem and room to accelerate. • Study current DynaTrace platform implementation, find gaps and recommend improvement. • Works with other teams to integrate application’s full infrastructure stack with APM tool to get an end-to-end visibility. • Collaborate with Business and IT to design and implement performance benchmarks for each application, and report results periodically. • Develops processes to monitor and alert for critical business transactions and applications to catch an issue before the impact and provide better information to the development team about the defects. • Participates in the discussion of applications performance and outage incidents to provide solutions. • Contribute ideas for continually improving application productivity. • Ensures that system improvements to increase efficiency. • Ensures that system tests are successfully completed and documented and all problems are resolved. • Coordinates and communicates applications performance management (APM) activities with key stakeholders. • Partners with platform services on platform related issues, planning and Disaster Recovery. • Collaborate with all relevant IT resources to develop preventive measures (Problem Management). • Influence effective solutions in a matrixed organization. • Represent the team and effectively communicate with management within the bank on key issues. • Fill in for peers and manager as required on projects and meetings to represent the team. Required Knowledge • Very strong knowledge of Application performance Management (APM) concepts, tools and features. • Knowledge of technologies in a multi-tiered environment (User Interface, Application, server, Databases, storage and network). • 7+ years of hands-on experience with any APM tool (like DyanTrace, AppDynamics) – Install, maintain and administration. • Must have good Splunk experience, knowledge of other monitoring tools are plus. • 3+ years of experience in supporting APM for large scale applications. • Knowledge of SDLC, application architecture, deployment, infrastructure and operational issues. • Must have excellent written and communication skills.
