Job Description

•       Responsible for overseeing the day-to- day responsibilities of the Staff Accountants and GL Specialists while performing various accounting functions simultaneously.

•       Review, approve and post journal entries.

•       Prepare metrics and specific reporting to senior management. Assist field personnel with issues and questions.

•       Reports to Accounting Manager.

•       Ensures general ledger accounts are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Consult on efficiency and effectiveness of accounting process Recommend areas of automation and process improvement Manage the accurate, reliable and timely reporting for internal requirements Review balance sheet and general ledger accounts and advise on any anomalies Administer personnel - related functions and direct the work of the team Familiarize self with the teams procedures and concepts Ensure compliance with required external and internal controls Provide metrics and specific reporting to senior management Review, approve and post journal entries Manage the month end close process Promotes teamwork between operational groups and departments Develop and coach team members Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance 3+ years of accounting experience 2+ years of supervisory experience Basic knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures as relates to general ledger accounting People Soft experience preferred Detail oriented Strong analytical skills Problem solving abilities Highly proficient computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office package Excellent oral/written communication skills Strong team player with ability to interact with all levels of staff within the company Strong work ethic
