Laura Smith serves as Vice President of Global Human Resources for DISYS and Signature Consultants and is responsible for directing the global strategy for all areas of Human Resources. Her focus has been on building and launching talent programs, with a focus on culture and employee engagement.
Prior to joining DISYS in 2014, Ms. Smith was Executive Director of Human Resources for Edelman, the largest global marketing communications firm, where for 17 years she directed HR strategy, operations and created programs in areas related to attraction, development and retention for Edelman’s U.S. region. Before joining Edelman, Laura grew her HR generalist career at Foster Higgins / Mercer for 14 years. She graduated with honors from American University with a MS in Human Resources Management and maintains the SPHR and SHRM-SCP HR certifications.
Since joining the team, Ms. Smith has been recognized by Staffing Industry Analyst in 2016, 2017 and 2019 as Global Power 150 Women in Staffing. She is committed to the HR field and translates her passion for building and maintaining the DISYS and Signature culture based on core values, transparency, diversity and inclusiveness. Ms. Smith believes in giving back to the community and has worked with global diversity and inclusion organizations, mentorship groups and various organizations to support efforts in eradicating serious diseases.
